National Parks (Protected Areas) in and adjoining Tibetan Areas of China.

There are a surprising number of national parks covering a surprisingly large area of Tibet. Of just over 2 million square kilometres of ethnic Tibetan areas in China, over 800,000 kilometres now fall into various national parks. Though enforcement of restrictions on use is largely non-existent, should strict protective rules be enforced it would bring about profound change to a vast section of land and population. download (1.5MB)
